Personal Robot

Robots working in a human living space

Overview

PFN is developing technology to create a society where robots can actively support our daily living activities. We exhibited a fully-autonomous tidying-up robot system using HSRs (Human Support Robots) developed by Toyota Motor Corporation at the CEATEC 2018.

Robots in the home need to respond flexibly to dynamic and complex situations and communicate naturally with humans. PFN has utilized deep learning techniques to enable the robot to recognize objects and understand spoken language as well as controlling the robot.

Features

The computer vision engine was an extended version of the PFDet model that won 2nd place in the Google AI Open Images international object detection competition.

It can pick and place various scattered items in their designated locations.

It allows intuitive control by verbal and gesture instructions.
