TOKYO – February 2, 2024 – Preferred Elements, Co., Ltd. (PFE), a subsidiary of Preferred Networks, Inc. (PFN) will develop a new 100 billion-parameter multimodal foundation model and test pre-training of a 1 trillion-parameter large language model using the computational resources provided through GENIAC (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge), a project initiated by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) for enhancing development of generative AI in Japan.
